N°2 : Ships were reaching the Caribbean to sell the survivors among the slaves they were carrying
N°3 : After being cleaned up, ships were going back home loaded with lots of exports goods astobacco, sugar or molasse (=sucre liquide) to be distilled to make rum.
The Atlantic triangular slave Trade operated from the late 16th to the early 19th centuries. The first trip, from Europe to West Africa, consisted in bringing supplies to sell and capture black chidren, men and women. They were all packed in the holds of ships, very crowded. Many of them were dying from diseases. When they were reaching the Caribbeans , the survivors were sold eithet in the New World,(South America where almost all the Amerindians had been killed) or in the Caribbeans or South Virginia. They were working in plantations, cotton or tobacco fields. The "slave ships" were then prepared for the way back home, cleaned up and reloaded with all those supplies , cotton, sugar or molasse, tobacco leaves to be be exported to Europe and manufactured , distilled there (rum with sugar)
